yup, and you were told they don't fit the gen1 contours, just like the mk2 mondeo morettes don't fit the gen2 contours . . . US crash safety requirements resulted in the contour having a different front structure from the mondeo, meaning all the stuff under the skin of the front bumper is different between the mondeo and the contour.
