Before: After: The little bottle that could: That stuff works wonders. The brake dust/rust was so bad on the wheel that it was pretty much melted onto it. All I did was apply a thin coat, let it sit for a few minutes, then rub on the dust/rust with just my fingers, and wash off with a hose. It virtually all came off.

They cleaned up well. The set I cleaned recently (the 10 or 12 spoke 15"ers) had it built up so badly on one wheel that the spokes were actually about 1/8" thicker then normal. I had to mark where the weights were and pop them off to get it completely clean. Ill have to look at picking up what you used. Im always open to new cleaning supplies.

is that save for the coating on the wheels though??
I use a combination of water, simple green, castrol super clean, and some dish soap.
Don't ask how i came up tith that, but it works. Works great on the door jams and hinges too.

That concotion won't touch the RUST thathat the naval jelly removes - yes, that's rust, not brakes pad dust - hence the orange colour.....the rust comes from the abraded rotor material - no soap will touch that stuff as rust is porous and attaches to the paint on the wheel. Naval Jelly is OK to use so long as you don't leave it on for days at a time.

Boy do I hate brake dust!
Nothing like a little elbow grease to get rid of that!
