Not complaining just bad luck.
I was on a two lane stretch of country highway stuck behind 3 cars doing 45 in a 55. I was clear to pass so I went for it. Completed the pass and got back in my lane just in time to see the trooper sitting on a side road(damn part one). Didn't have my detector on(damn part two). I knew he got me so I pulled over, flipped on my flashers, pulled out my license and waited for him.
I told him I had just completed passing someone and he asked how fast they were going and I told him 45 mph. He smiled and said he drives that road home every night and it makes him nuts sometimes how slow people drive on that road but you have to learn to be patient. We laughed but I still got the ticket(damn part three). Oh well...that's the way the cookie crumbles. Only my second moving violation ever, still $130 for 10 mph over...ouch!

$130 ouch is right!

I got my 2nd about a month ago. They were running an unmarked laser trap with bikes waiting on the next on-ramp. A completely unmakred white F-150 shooting, and bikes waiting on the wings. I had my detector on, but with Laser I only got about 2 seconds warning. 78 in a 65, cost me $85. Then $75 for my new tint (3 weeks old) and $75 b/c my brow is 1" below the AS 1 line. So a total of $235 and I got to keep the tint and gamble I don't get pulled over for the tint again.

I deserved it, I needed a wake-up call to slow down. I learned my lesson and I behave and watch my speed more closely now. On a side note, I get better gas-mileage now!

Dang that seems expensive to me. My last ticket for 10 over, 65 in a 55, was $65 IIRC. True, that was several years ago and I think they've raised the fines since then. Meh, I'm getting old now so I don't feel the need to speed so much anymore. Probably a good thing.

In MN it only get reported to your insurance if it was more than 10 over.
Plus since I've been with the same company for a long time and been a good boy I get a freebie!

Minimum speeding ticket in MN is $117! I don't know if you get pulled over by a local cop if it's any different.

Assuming that the speed limit was 70... 8 miles an hour over is not "blew" or blowing by anything State boys have better things to do then pull over escort look alikes doing 8 over the speed limit.
