I would argue it is very different. For one, your gas tank is essentially in the centre of a car during a crash, whereas your A/C condenser is out front.

Possibly. It is highly unlikely, but even with my limited experience in the propane field (did two summers with propane companies), I am cautious.
Either way, I am going to get things leak checked first. If I have a big leak, then I have spent $79 to find out where, instead of wasting $79 on a kit that ends up blowing out into the atmosphere in a week.
