Last I checked r134 comes in a can. Where did freon come from? It hasn't been used since before the Contour introduction.

freon is in my basement...in 3 small cans

Well I tried it again, it took about 20 minutes to empty the can. Seems like it is a little bit cooler now.

The adapter I was talking about was the device with the hose and the fitting that punctures the can. This did not come attached to the can already.

it is all freon.....just has different names....R-12 is way more effective but no longer in use....and not compatable with 134a......but to the right person....R12 is worth some coin.

r-12 really isnt more effective atall compared to r-134a thats just a common myth . and yes r-12 is worth some money what people do is take it across the mexican border through texas because they still produce it there and is worth alot of money

sorry....R-12 is more effecient...but was "damaging" the ozone so needed replaced...new stuff (r134a) is effective.....but is not as effective as R12 was....

Maybe the only reason it was colder becuase the old systems held like 5 lbs in the system and were going to smaller systems for the more compact cars.... and im sorry that i know alot about a/c i am certified in it.
