Thanks for the personal support, but I don't think that Quality is an issue anymore, at one time I would have agreed with you, American cars through the 80's sucked, but not anymore. I work in a wholesale parts warehouse, I'm an inside salesman, we sell only to jobbers not the general public and by far we get more calls for foreign parts for newer cars 2000 and up than American cars, plus the foreign parts with few exceptions are far more expencive to repalace.

True, I will admit the domestic cars are getting better in quality, but they have not reached the level of the imports. Compare a BMW X5 to a Navigator (both cost the same), the quality of the X5 is much better then the Navigator. Foreign car parts will always cost more because I don't think there is anyway around it. The worst thing about foreign cars is when a part is back ordered it take so bloody long example BMW it takes 7-10 business days , where as my Ford takes 2days if a part is back ordered .

On a side note which foreign car manufactures would you say you get the most calls about?

Aaron

Kia's are up there along with Toyota emmission parts and 4-Runner brake and suspension, MB's exhaust mufflers and cat's for some reason and VW Passat brakes and suspension. Those are just the ones that come to mind.
