I took my Contour to Jiffy Lube it's whole life for trans/coolant flushes and no issues. I have taken my Evo for oil changes at Jiffy Lube also. When taking you car in for ANY service you need to be "involved" with what is going on.
Yeah it is wrong to charge for stuff never done but at the same time a smart consumer would never leave themselves "open" for this kind of thing to happen in the first place. 
Forgive me, Hector. Many people who take their cars in to places like that are busy working class & don't have the time to babysit the car to make sure they do the work. Many people drop the car off & pick it up at lunch or after work. The mechanic puts down on paper what they will do, charges for it, it is up to him/her to provide the service. That is a very basic kind of contract.
Some people are just ignorant about cars & trust a 'mechanic' to be professional & minimally diligent in his duties. These victims no choice as they are commonly lacking in the most basic mechanical skills.
Maintenance & repair shops have got ignorant or busy people by the short & curlies & they KNOW it.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
