I know what you mean here.

Once you get the front of the lower cushion up from the clip, just push the cushion straight back toward the trunk. There is a little hook below each of the two seating locations that holds the bottom of the seat in place. Sorta like hanging a picture.

I pulled my Contour seat straight up & tore the mounting plate out of the seat bottom. Didn't matter 'cause I was installing leather anyway...



Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Yep I did the same thing. Cheap yellow foam is all that is holding that junk in. I've started to tear mine a bit from pulling up the leather seats every once in awhile.

Ya know, the Haynes manual shows some hinges that allow the seat bottom to simply flip up onto the backs of the forward seats and allow the seat backs to lay flat. Were any Contours equipped like that?? I'd like to have the ability to fold my seats flat as needed without having to remove the seat bottom.
