I came across this video and figure i share. I love this video because it demonstrates the sweep's, tight cornering and straight away's. For some of you who viewed the vid that was posted a few days ago with your lil'commentary, let me say, you can not fully appreciate the chicane's and proper apex riding or driving until you watch and experience it yourself.

It goes without saying for those of us who have bikes that the ultimate way to fully embrace the sweetness of this particular type of road is go'en Two Wheel.HECK - even a smaller car like a Mazda RX 8, Miata,Mazda 3 or any smaller refined car.( sometimes smaller is better, ya know )< my opinion anyway.Though i would love the chance to hit it just once on a weekend in my Merc.

What i really enjoy about this video is how it gives you true full on camera angle which a bike can only provide. You can better appreciate how tight most of the sweeps really are and how twisty they snake thru rite on top of one another.

By the way. What is the ' Snake '? Are you all referring to the Serpant in Arkansas or another road near by the Dragon?

Here's the site: www.gormanonline.com/forums/5/ShowPost.aspx

Oh,there are other video's where motorcyclist's just burn thru it.Faster than what you witness with this guy. Who by the way scores above average skills .Just pay attention to the riding dynamics he depicts hitting proper apex.

I find this video is tailored more to the safty conscience conscientious and acknowledge's the importance of accepting that the road is neither a race track nor playground without it's danger's.

Watch for the wheelies... in the vid.
Also, pay attention on how the majority of the drivers on the video not to mention bikers that swerve out of line thru the corners heading rite onto the oncoming lane and traffic. I find that drivers do it more than riders.<<<<waiting on comments are that observation.

Alot of the motorcyclist accidents occur usually from improper counter steering, underskill's and trying to correct a miscalculated maneuver.

You're forgetting the biggest cause: overconfidence.

The "Snake" is Shady Valley, in the far NE corner of Tennessee, on 421, I believe.

Perhaps the 'chick on the chopper' was simply being smart and riding within her limits? A prudent decision given the propensity of the Dragon to punish the over confident.

True. I've seen some big ole' choppers running at their absolute limits at walking speed. Those big bikes with the 6' rake and ape-hanger bars ain't built to handle the corners.

Its good that those are there in a way as they keep most people humble and if you don't learn from those, well, you will

I fully agree about having a smaller car out there, its 100% true. My Crossfire was WAY better to drive on the Dragon than my CSVT was and it was modded in the suspension/brake department too. Its smaller, lighter, more hp, more torque and has bigger tires, all add up to BIG fun out there last year, can't wait for this fall (probably has more to do with the fact that I'll get to drive a certain CEG-er EVO out there that will be fitted with brand new Nitto 555's )
