A little over a month ago, my friend tells me that his dad sued Microsoft for $133 million!

Here's the story:

His dad, David Colvin, who owns a small software company, developed an anti-piracy program which Microsoft apparently took (despite patents) and sold to another company (the company that produces the AutoCad programs) without his permission. Well, he found out and took them to federal court in Texas. The court is apparently known for upholding patent/copyright cases. The jury decided in favor of my friend's dad in the amount of $133,000,000

I thought "BS", so I looked it up online and sure enough, it's true. The even better part is that Microsoft appealed the case and has to pay interest on the money while it is in appeals. The lawyers say that it is highly unlikely it will be overturned.

If you search for Colvin 133 Microsoft on google it should come up if you want to read the article about it.

Some crazy parties should be happening quite soon, we be gettin' drunk off Cristal!!
