Hello all,
I was just wondering what my 00 CSVT would be worth on the market as I have just moved and am not working, thus am considering selling my car and getting a used Mustang GT or something where the monthly payments might be less.
My Car is a 00 Black SVT Contour with about 16,000 Miles on it and in decent condition, garaged for most of the Two years, paint and body are not mint, but with a good detail and buff can look good, interior shows some wear but not much.
I saw a Red 99 SVT in an auto trader with 46K miles going for 15,999 so I was thinking mine might be more than that...also I owe about 14,800 on the car still.
I pay about 300/mo and don't know if I am better off just sticking with this car as the payments are high considering my current job situation, or if I would be better off finding a nice used something else for under 10k?
Worst case scenerio I could pay off the CSVT in full, but I would rather not do that...
Thanks for the opinions.

Go here... http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.tp?kbb&&773&split_owners and fill in all your SVT's info. You will get a reasonable estimate.

No offense, but KBB is fiction. Low Trade-In/high Retail to please the dealers.
I'm afraid the '00 SVT wouldn't sell for much more than you owe, Mathew J.

WOW! For only having 16K you sure dont paint a pretty picture of it. Based on that statement, I wouldn't expect too much.
98.5 SE Sport badgeless, MTX, KKM, SVT exhaust with resonator intact. 1985 Z51 Vette with many mods. Only used when the Tour appears to be outclassed.

A dealer in SLC sold a 00 for 18 K last week they also have a 99 at 16k private I have seen them sell for 17k.
Point is not what its worth but what is someone willing to pay! Theoreticaly It might not be worth **** or it could be worth everything????
Try autotrader and enter your zip, a car in LA will sell for more then a car in Alabama!

AS A DEALER IN PASADENA, I CAN TELL YOU NOT TO EXPECT ANYWHERE NEAR RETAIL. I AM SELLING AN AWESOME 2000 WITH ONLY 18000 MILES FOR 13995 AND IT IS STILL FORSALE AND I AM A DEALER WITH MORE CUSTOMERS THAN YOU ARE LIKELY TO HAVE. YOU CAN EXPECT A DEALER TO GIVE YOU SOMEWHERE AROUND 10K TO 11K FOR IT ON TRADE AND THEN HE WILL SELL IT FOR AROUND 16K. BUT YOUR NOT A DEALER, SO YOU MUST EXPECT LESS THAN HE GETS. OTHERWISE, WHY BUY FROM YOU? I SURE WILL BE GLAD TO GET MY SVT BACK FROM MY SON AT BAYLOR UNIVERSITY THIS WEEKEND. I AM SO READY TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. A CAR IS MUCH EASIER TO SELL IF IT IS AVILABLE FOR DEMONSTRATION.

Yes, the Retail price is mainly used for insurance and loan pricing purposes. Dealers use it for a "baseline" for negotiations.
If selling privately, expect a price between wholesale and retail. Pvt. party shoppers are looking to pay less, also.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!

Apparently, that dealer that TLP saw much have alot of suckers to pay that much for the car. On the flip side, 10-11K for a '00 w/ 18K is kinda low. Heck, I sold my 98.5 w/ 50K miles for $12K. It took some work, and alot of time, but if you're patient, you could probably get around $14K (assuming you clean it up).
