He's obviously not 17/18 already because the schoolyear is almost over. I'd say he's gotta be between 14-16.
Growth spurt or not, he's trying to prepare now for tryouts, which I'm pretty sure happen in the summer before the schoolyear starts.
I'm not sure how much the age factor really matters in such a few months. Could be wrong.

oh darn, I didn't realize I forgot to tell ya'll he'll be 14 on June 18th. He'll be going into the 9th grade in August or September......whenever school starts. I am hoping he'll have a growth spurt SOON, he's been around 5'2" for a while, and last month at his checkup is when we found out he's 5'4". He's still a little over 160 but just from these past few days, it looks like he's slimming down in the belly a bit, or it could be my imagination, but I don't think so. He's never worked out as hard as he has these past 3 days. That was a good thing. Maybe I will keep him doing those stretching exercises they did, and we'll get out there and play catch. Dad can't do it, he's being deployed next week. He'll be gone for 7 months. So it's up to me. w00t

Sounds like a good family activity to get everyone off the couch and moving around.
Just because it's football, doesn't mean mom can't join in on the fun.
Have fun!

He should check out the literally Miraculous protein shakes that the Reverend Pat Robertson is pitching. Even though RObertson is 78 years old, he is today apparently one of the strongest people on the planet - all thanks to his protein shakes.
