Last week, I was driving to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, and while I was using my turn signal, the relay was suddenly cliking twice as fast as it should (as if a bulb was burned) for a few seconds, and went back to normal.

I had this problem once before, but that time, it really was a burnt bulb (at least, it ended up becoming one). And, it happened in the same place as last time, the left turn signal.

Any ideas?

Was the last time the front turn signal lamp? Maybe this time it is the back (or vice versa).

You may have the beginning of failure of the turn signal switch. It is a know problem with Contiques, but not extremely common. I have seen it a few times, including on my own car. Eventually the switch would also intermittantly fail so that the signals didn't work at all.

If you are absolutely certain that the bulb isn't acting up (and they can act up intermittantly), take a good look at the switch.

you can make it go crazy if you slightly press down on the signal.

Mine's been doing it every once in a while for months. Doesn't bother me much. And also it's happened on my brother's SVT a few times and when a bulb would burn out he'd open the hood or trunk and nudge the bulb and it would work again. Funky electrical issues

Happened to my daughter's 'Tour. The bulb filament would flop around and give the symptoms. Then the filament would make contact & the signals would work normally. Second time I had to chase a bulb I just replaced all of 'em. Problem solved.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
