I'm not saying that the dogs are not recoverable. I think there's way too much to factor into it to simply say that all abused dogs will turn out rotten. I'm just saying that it's one thing to consider, along with temperment and the adopter's ability to have patience/love through the adaptation of the dog. I also feel that an abused dog will either lash out or crawl back, depending on it's temperment. When you have a dog that crawls back after being abused, I think that it's a little easier to adapt their personality rather than one that simply strikes back at all humans after abuse. Good success story though, my family has always had mutts from the pound, and although we've had some tough cases, we have absolutely astounding dogs! I'll always adopt from here on out. No sense in not saving a dog.
