Dogs can be trained. The process itself may be hard, but it's very workable. I've seen it.

The dog we found was very scared. As I was calling my sister to come out and help me with her, the dog got really frightened, and cowered down, tail in between her legs, as if I were about to hit her. She was very abused. Bite marks, though small, on her face and right hind leg, and she looked to be very thin. But aside from that, she was a very adorable dog. You should've seen those big brown eyes of hers. Pretty eyes, they are.
