Just trying to clean or replace my IAC. It is extremely difficult to get a rench on the bottom for that lower bolt on the 2.5HO. I looked at a Sable and the IAC is mounted on top and is easily excessible; the SVT isn't like that.
But to take that lower bolt off, do I have to take apart that(what I think is vacuum hose off)? When I do take off that bolt and go to put it back on, it will be difficult because of its positioning. Does anyone have any suggestions (ie what tools to use)?
I don't know if I am going to replace or clean, and put back on the IAC. I have the part, but if it looks like it is just gummed up, I will put the existing one back on. This is the second time this part needs replacing. I take very short trips with the car, and I drive it very easy, so it's probably carbed up.
Also, will a fuel injector cleaner help keep that part clean if i put that in my fuel every once in a while, because this is getting extremely annoying with this idle problem. I had the dealer do it last time after they put a ton of miles on my car tring to figure out what is wrong with it. It took my own research to find out what was wrong, but at that time they had already bent my trailing arm-but thats a whole different story.
So, needless to say I need suggestions because I want to bring it to the dealer. Also when the new or old part is put reinstalled, will the computer adjust for idle?
Thanks
