I'm working on a 2000 SE with the 2.5 V6. For some reason I can't get the oil drain plug out. Using a socket is impossible due to the location of the exhaust system. I've tried using a wrench and it wont move. I'm trying to turn it counter-clockwise. The dealer has changed the oil on this care before. But I have no idea what they have done to it so I cant get the 15mm plug out. Any tricks to getting it out?

Welcome .

Get a 6-point 15 mm wrench ($8 at Sears) and drive the car until it is warmed up. It is usually easier to remove the drain plug when the car is warmed up. (or send it to the shop and have them do the oil change).

Didn't work. The dealer must have way over tightened it.

I had the same issue and just took it to Valvoline or any oil change place and told them the issue and they loosened it free of charge. Just an idea.

It was on so tight the dealer had to drill it out and put a new one on.
