FORD isnt selling the car for said amount, its the
dealers and theyre doing it because the
market will bear it. at msrp the car is decently priced (a
little pricey in my eyes) and without "Shelby" on the car it would probably fetch just that. with Shelby having one foot in the grave people know time is limited... if Ford keeps cranking these out for a few more years (while Shelby still alive) then they will be worth less (not to be confused with worthless

). say Shelby were to die this year, those cars will definitely be worth money. ROE kinda mondey?? probably not, but definitely wont depreciate like other typical cars. its a worthy investment as far as a car is concerned because you can buy for X amount of dollars, drive it for a few years, and then sell it for a pretty damn good % of what you paid for it, as opposed to a regular mustang. lets say only 8000 are made. im sure in 30-40 years those will be fetching BIG numbers at Barret Jackson. many will have been crashed/stolen/exported etc... then again, will the name Shelby mean as much 40 years from now?? as opposed to being just another badass cobra?
two of my friends are on the list at Galpin Ford. since Galpin is the largest volume dealer there is, they are getting a sizeable alotment of Shelbys. both of these guys are friends with the owner's son. supposedly Galpin will be getting 30 Shelbys (i dont know if at one time, or spread out) but has FOUR HUNDRED people on the list. supposedly they are going to take ALL these people into a large room and let them all bid on the cars. im willing to bet some of the last ones will get more than $20k over sticker. as one of the guys said, im a 24 year old kid. i can afford a Shelby cobra but how am i going to compete with a millionaire?
