oh - did i mention that i got a free Gtech pro with my tires?

and then sold it for $92 on Ebay! so divide that into 4 = $23 off each tire

so essentially i got my KDW's for $72/each!!!

Who charges 40 bucks for mounting and balancing? Wheel rack charges that if you buy the tires there, otherwise its $150

Like I said...you got raped! If you think $150 is a good deal than go right ahead. But I had my tires put on for $40 and my wifes tires put on for $50. Try shopping around instead of blindly believing a tire shop.

Also, If you gonna buy "super" tires you are going to automatically notice all the weaknesses in your suspension. Maybe try some less expensive tires and do some suspension work.

Up to you James, but damn!

I think you'll notice a helluva lot more performance gain in buying $850 of Koni's and springs than with tires. I'd go with the Cheap Sumitomo HTRZII's and get Koni's at all four corners.

Your suspension is prolly getting pretty beat as it is 4+ years old too! I have noticed my struts are a lot softer than 1 yr ago. I can tell by how much I rub in the back, 1 yr ago virtually never. Now, a lot more.

Cheap way to get tires mounted is to bring the wheels and tires to store, if thye don't have to mount them on car you can save $$$. That way they don't have to use a lift, kinda what Roman did to me!

Lol, I haven't bought the shizzle yet, hence the use of future tense in my posts. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do confused

Just bite the bullet and get that Turbo Beetle you keep fantasizing about. The dealer in Sunnyvale has an orange one with the rainbow sticker on the back, you know you want it!

You should go with the sumitomo HTRZ II's I had them on my 18's for about 2 months, they get good traction dry or wet thay stick to the ground real good. They also have deep cuts in the treads/tread has a cool look,at least i think.

If you are a Costco member you might want to check their tire prices. They carry Bridgestone, Michelin, and BF Goodrich (I am not sure if they sell the S0-3's, but they can get most stuff on special order). I recently bought some RE730's for a decent price at Costco. I don't know if they have any special deals running right now (about 2 months ago they had $50 off Bridgestone tires), but their prices are competitive nonetheless. Prices include a warranty and mounting fees are less than $10 a tire. I got a set of RE730's in the 205/55/ZR 16 size mounted and out the door (tax, etc.) for about $430 nearly 2 months ago.

info here:
My RE730 deal

Costco may not have what you are looking for, but its worth a try to check.

Good luck!
