So I have been looking at the tire rack website at what tires I want to get, soething that sticks good in their "max performance" catagory. The most promising tire looks to be the bridgestone potenze SO3's. Tire rack is charging like 150 a tire. I go over to wheel works and they are charging $230 a tire eek , but they say they will match tire racks price plus $20 per tire. So I go over to Winston tires, and they are only charging $180 a tire. But then the guy starts talking about how he had a set on his rabbit, and that they would break loose easily depsite the very good dry traction rating given to this tire by tire rack. He starts singin praises about the dunlop 8000's, but says that they will only last 5000 miles. But tire rack doesn't give dunlop very god ratings, plus I have animosity towards dunlops, those *******s.

So I think it was christopher at the mini meet who was talkig about the 8000's? Talkin about he knew soeone who had them and liked them? anybody here, otherwise I'm going in tommorow and putting down the deposit on the S03's, apparently there are only 3 in California right now

If your looking for a good tire, go with the sumitomo htr zII's there around 110 a tire, and they kick ass. I autocrossed 2 seasons on mine and won the big sky championship both years.....treadwear is 220 I think, not real soft, but not rock hard either

I said that Forrest had the DUnlop SP9000's and he thought they were better than his KDW's. That is only his opinion though. I think the S-03's will be good for you. Also, checkout the new KDW 2's. They look pretty awesome and they are too new to be on that tire rack list.

I personally am gonna go with the HTRZ II's just because they on the top ten list and they are the CHEAPEST!!

kdw's are now 119 something from everywhere.

luke from tire rack posted what they have found to be the best street tires, the s03's were on the top.

kdw's were up there too, somewhere in the top 10.

here's a comment from luke, http://www.contour.org/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=31&t=001324&p=

i think i'll be gettin some s03's whenever i need to replace them.

I had the dunlups and can tell you that they are dog ****. I now have the s-03's and have to say that THESE TIRES KICK A$$!! I highly recommend them I have had them on for about 10k and they stick way better than the kdw's or the sp8000. But I wouldn't expect them to last more than about 25K of spirited driving.
P.S. I have never had a tire that stays planted to the road as good as these do in the rain.

Lol, yea I used to work at circuit city. I was too lazy to lie so I didn't make much money smile

Yea I decided that I am not going to listen to ole "JJ", and get the SO3's. Gonna take 4 days to get them since there are only 3 in the state of california in the size I want. Damage is gonna be $850. I'll be lucky if these tires last ten thousand miles. eek

Thanks for the opinions y'all
