I've whipped plenty of 'em in the local vintage class. But yeah, I'd take an RC10 over my Bullet any day.

I had one of these over 10 years ago (probably around 15 years ago). I thought it was fast until I took it to a track one day and was smoked by everything there. Looks like Tamiya is selling them again. I'm guessing they upgraded them. If not, .

Pic works for me. I don't know what a Manta Ray is, but my R/C was a Tamiya LunchBox. I painted mine several different colors throughout the years. It has an ABS plastic body so changing colors was easy.

I was heavily into off-road and on-road 1/10 electrics from about 1987-1990. I had a Turbo Ultima with a Trinity Godzilla, Tekin T1, a couple of 7-cell batteries, a nice ball-bearing LSD, etc. Amazing that I can still remember the details. Anyway, the motor was good for exactly 4 min., which was the length of the races. I used that car for both off-road and on-road. Just changed the wheels/tires and altered the ride height depending on which.
I ended up giving away most of that stuff to my Mom's neighbor's kid last Summer. Felt bad doing it, but it was just taking up space.

I used to do the same thing, I would put zip ties between the shock towers and the A and H arms to get the truck about 1cm off the ground and then go race carpet ovals.. good times!

Sorry to bump an old thread. I bought this car from Scott (Horse) and would like to say that i now understand how people can spend so much money on this stuff. I ran it for a couple hours this weekend, and it is wicked fast - and wicked fun!
It was fun being in the hobby store as people with .15 motors were asking if mine was as fast as theirs, and the owner saying - No, it's faster.
I'm already thinking about stuff I can buy for it. Crap, i've already spent like $150 on top of the cost of the car...but for important stuff. rechargeable batteries for in the car, a failsafe, better plug lighter...I think next will be a starter box though since i ripped up my finger with the cord this weekend.
And Scott is tha man. On top of the deal, i had the car in my hands before he even received the payment. Stand up guy.

Its easy to dump a ton of money into an R/C car. Ive done it on 3 different rides, my current one being a Savage.
And to be honest, Im a big fan of pull starts over a starter box or in my case, the built in start (HPIs rotostart). I ditched that crap long ago with the new engine and havent looked back.
Instead of having to bring all the crap with me, now I just carry the glow plug ignitor and a small screwdriver for tuning. Leave all the batteries and boxes at home. If you take care of your engine (put at the bottom of the stroke before it cools, add after run oil when finished, clear out all the fuel), and have it tuned properly, it starts on the 1st or 2nd pull everytime. At least mine does. Even after sitting all winter it fired up on the first pull.
