I just thought it was funny how the closeup was shot at a different time. All their movements were different.

I always liked Kotzen, maybe I was the only one but I really liked the album that poison did with him. Vai was always amazing when I was a kid, I watched him in concert a few years ago and it was quite fun. My friends and I got really drunk and heckled the jerk like the prima donna he is lol. He came and left the stage at least 3 times because his "effects" weren't right. Satriani has always seemed to be a good combo of blues, speed, and style. His style isn't the same thing all the time and it's got "feeling??" i guess. Anyway cool video brought back memories of my speed metal band in high school lol.

Dont particularly dig that... reminds me of how Vai approaches the guitar... and his playing doesn't really cream my twinkie anymore.
Interesting to watch though.

This is why I've gotten into Flamenco and have pretty much stayed in that camp; some of the things a good Flamenco player can do with a guitar will have your shovelling your jaw off of the floor. Some guys do a folk/Flamenco/blues fusion that is just unbelievable...
This guy's style is very close to what I've seen with some of the newer Flamenco fusion guys out there. Paco de Lucia does some neat stuff as well (old school, though); Cante is another.
Ronald Radford is one name I'll drop though his published stuff is all Flamenco.

I almost saw Yngwie live last week on a whim... the only thing that stopped me from going was that there was a huge line when I got there (wich I was very suprised about). FWIW Dream Theater's old keyboardist Derek Sherinan is in Yngwie's current live band.
Another guitarist who I've always been impressed with is Steve Morse. Check out "Tumeni Notes" off his self-titled solo album for an example of his fast playing. IMO his stuff has held up among the best of the "guitar god" set. A lot of Vai's stuff, for example, sounds really over-processed and dated now.
JaTo, I have a lot of respect for Flamenco and classical guitarists. But I personally separate fingerstyle from picked as far as "fast playing" is concerned.

Just goes back to the days where if someone's guitar player left, they would just get a "Varney guy" who recorded on Shrapnel Records.
You weren't the only guy....not that I am admitting to owning that album....Actually Kotzen's a decent singer too. Can't say much about his look in this vid......

I also liked Greg Howe's playing, if not his acting abilities......I thought he would be good with Roth.

All that said, I always will be an Eddie Van Halen guy.
