im just wondering what the normal temp the exhaust system is gonna see during use. (WR Headers, New Flexpipe, and Trubendz Cat, on stock SE exhaust(for now)). The reason being, just coated the cat and flexpipe, basically just the flanges with raw steel exposed; with a "hi temp" rust proofing spray paint. It is supposedly resistant to 500 degrees (C or F not sure) I'm just hoping that is suffcient.

Nope. Normal cuise is around 900F turbos can see around 1500F - your 500F stuff is gonna burn off instantly and give you a headache from the fumes in the process - congratulations for researching this AFTER the fact!

There is 1500F barbecue paint in flat black sold at wal-mart for like $4.
It works awesome for anything but headers. For those just buy 2000 degree Thermotec paint, you can get it form JC Whitney. That stuff is "money" <works great> protects from rust, doesn't peel off if you clean all the grease off the metal first and costs about $8 a can. Two cans will be enough to paint the whole exhaust.

Man, I wish I knew that before we did my brothers headers on his truck. The 1500 paint lasted about 10 minutes. But it looked nice for the first 4 1/2 of those 10 minutes, LOL
