Welcome. I had a 2000 I4 not too long ago...not bad, just no guts. Very reliable, though.
I would make sure the timing belt has been changed, and possibly the fuel filter. Other than that, routine maintenance. Stop by the Zetec Tuning and Maintenace forums for more info.
