The guy is lying about the mileage and the amount of time he's had it...
Kim I sent the guy two messages and was done with it! If when the time comes my car ends up on ebay I don't want some a-hole BSing the mileage and such. I especially wouldn't want him to get more money for it than what I sold it for!
Hector did you sell it with the corbeaus!?

I consider this to be the same as if a dealership was lying about a vehicle on their lot, which I've seen plenty of times. I'd keep calling them on it until they tell the truth. If I were buying a car I'd be grateful someone was watching out for me.

BK, I wasn't referring to Airforce's or your actual offers for the car. I do believe it is overpriced and your offers were certainly not outrageous as the seller wants us all to believe.
These quotes are what led me to state against the e-thugging / forum-ganging:

That really urks me...
^^ granted your later e-mail(s) to him may have been friendly, but this statement doesn't make it seem so - and you didn't post your messages to him either.

Okay, so it appears that only Mapoftazi (Pete) actually went and "put him in his place" but from what I read of these quotes I got the impression that more had, especially in such a demeaning tone which I assume Pete wrote (again, sent e-mails were not posted to the board). He made it quite clear in both replies that if you're not interested in buying he doesn't want to talk .. why even bother with the second e-mail? It's a waste of time on your part to try and talk sense to him and also can be regarded as flamebait since it's now very unsolicited.
I don't see mileage being purposely misrepresented, FWIW. The auction matches with the Carfax given mileage, and it is possible the owner did not know of the gauge swap (though I very highly doubt Hector never told him!). It's possible he just plain forgot about that bit since he obviously doesn't care about the car. I don't see the mileage having ever been brought up in any e-mail sent to him by anybody. (Granted it's also possible he's just a scumbag who is knowingly selling with lower mileage.)
I do find it interesting that Hector signed his title dated 10/05 but the Carfax didn't register a new title change until 3/06 .. that "could" support his argument (though is also very sketchy and doubtful). Thanks ESC for the Carfax!
As it stands, the only verifiable lie I see throughout all this is the length of ownership....correct me if I am wrong.

I haven't read anthing that looks like e-thugging. If he is lying call him out, plain and simple. Too many ceg refs, I have read way worse post's on here and this is mild.
If the seller is in fact lying, and from what if been reading it seems so, then the real shame is the poor guy that's bidding on the car under false pretenses.
If it was me who new this guy was lying and I had the proof I would contact the seller and tell him that he is wrong and infact commiting a crime by fraud. I would also contact the bidders and advise them of this, and even ebay, if the seller was unwilling to stop the auction and relist it with the truth or atleast update the auction with the truth.
If it was my old car and I new the seller was lying and trying to rip someone off, I too would call the scumbag out. To much of that crap goes on has it is ,plus from reading his responces, he seems to be shady and the poor guy who buys it and finds something out isn't going to be able to reason or get help from this guy and that just isn't right. I don't think it's e-thugging to call him out has long has it doen't get too crazy. I say make hime face the truth and look like the azz he is. my 2cents.

Go back and read speedy.... I posted a quick summury about the first Email I sent him, then I posted his response.
Then I posted word for word my response to his response.
I think the guys not so bad. I know that POS car well The only thing he realy lied on was how long he's owned it. I think with my first Email he thought I was some young punk goofing around, not knowing too much about the car.
I yhink after the second one I sent (The one I posted) he saw I was serious and knew a bit more than he thought about this majical Zetec...
Here was his last reply...I'm cool with the guy.
Again I wasn't trying to low-ball the guy, That was my maximum offer, for the reasons I stated. I would love to see the car to to a CEGer thats gonna baby it and take care of it, It would be even better if it went to a Chicago CEGer so we can keep it in the family here. But to me it's not worth $4,500 when I can get an SVT for about that.
As a matter of fact My 3L Duratec SE cost me just a tad over this guys Buy It Now Price, for the car, motor swap, and tranny....
[quote-Ebay Dude] Okay, no problem. Believe me I totally understand about getting the juices flowing and it takes my 8.30 @ 168 mph Mustang to get mine going - and this car def. falls short of that. Our son really wanted it ( actually still wants it )which I guess all the young kids like these things, but we've got some other projects going and need to sell it, but we'll keep it before we give it away.
Thanks for the interest though, Rich

i only meant that in meaning to expose his lies and make him tell the truth. not mak an ass of oursleves to him. that i dont want at all, theres enough assery around here. i really dont like it when people tell such lies, and get away with it.
so has he changed his lies yet? or his he still being an ass back?

The auction ends today. Less than 9 hours left. He barely lowered the Buy It Now price.
