Hey guys my car got in 3 runs and 3 different drivers. I pulled the best time even though I totally messed up @ 15.8/87.6mph. My friends did horrible though (16.1 and 16.9) on my car.

My dumb ass went through the water and I had some real bad wheel hop. I was nervous too being my first time @ SRW and the fact I wasn't paying attetion to myself. My eyes were wondering over @ the GSR and crap. I'm going next wednesday and will run all my own times. I need to see what this car can do before I put my mods....

I agree about your wheelspin and the hop stuff, your rear end was bouncin like a kangaroo!

hunymobile - Did you run again after that first 16.1 eek It sounded like you had some nice wheelspin going as well smile

flummox - I dunno what to say now......dial-in of 14.4 and ran your good ol' 16.2 and 16.3.....you need to figure out what was wrong with those take-offs
Will someone run my car next time? I dont even want to, I just want to see what it will do.

Crappy runs for me. frown

Hey Saturn_k1, you said you saw my first two runs. How did my start look? Wheelspin? It felt to me that I was spinning the tires pretty bad.

I did end the night with a 15.91 (best time) at just over 90mph (best mph was a tick under 92). So at least I am improving a little each run.

Trial and error I guess.

It was nice meeting you all.

Your near tire had ALOT of wheelspin, I couldnt see the far tire,but can imagine if that is the tire that powers the rear transaxle, then it must have had more wheelspin than the other! So what happened to the 14.4 wink

a 14.4?
there is not a n/a svt that has run better than a 14.7 heavily modded, and you think you can do it at sac?
(maybe you can tell i have hard feelings against that track)
and uh, there is no power going to the rear tires ... front wheel drive
and wheelhop is nasty, check your motor mounts, mine only break when i play the aggressive launcher at sears point.

Hmm. Didn't see you guys there. When did you show up? I bailed at ~5:20. I got ONE run in before then (they were dinking around with the lights for about an hour or so). I had to go play raquetball with my GF, and it looked like it was going to be another hour before I got another run.

Unfortunately, the chip on my car comes loose occasionally (mostly during hard 1->2 shifts) and puts the computer in limp mode until I shut it off and back on again. Guess what? Yup, happened during my run... Took about 2-3 seconds to figure out what happened, shut it off and turn it back on again, then hammer on it. Sucks....

So I figured by the 1/8 mile I was back on the gas (just shifting into 3rd, most likely -- shift out at ~74mph).

1/8 mi: 9.98 @ 71.45
1/4 mi: 15.26 @ 96.3

Previous best:
1/8 mi: 9.65 @ 75.5
1/4 mi: 14.78 @ 96.3

So even with a crappy run it is clear I'm making quite a bit more power (it took only 0.2 seconds longer to accelerate from 71.5 to 96.3 vs. 75.5 vs 96.3). Quick swag based on Newtonian mechanics would suggest I'm putting down about 15% more power than before the mods. Not as much as I was hoping (probably only ~280 at the flywheel; should have 300 or so), but it has yet to be dyno tuned, and I usually run 1-2mph better on the second run than the first.

Shoulda been a triple-digit trap speed. frown I'll have to go back on a night when I don't have anything else planned.

It's too bad the Test-n-tune is so much. There are a lot fewer people and you can actually get in 10-15 runs in only a few hours. Dyno time is more worth it right now, I think.

hey trojan and others, yeah i got a crappy 16 sec haha.. that was with the girlfriend mod and crappy shifting. the second time i had an AWSOME run. but you wont belive, i coasted across the 1/4 mile line.. yeah thats right, i hit the rev limiter and the freken car shut off!!!!! it pissed me off soo much because i waited so long for nothing. i still got a 15.7 which means i would have gotten a wicked fast time. i raced a mustang which got a 13.6. it pisses me off though, the car turned off.. oh yeah, by the way, the reason that happened was because someone was telling me not to shift into 4th. well now i know i cant get accross the 1/4 mile line without going into 4th. oh well, next time. we need to get there way earlier though. i know i can get a very low 15 if my g-tech is saying 14.7-9. trojan: your friend ran against a roush and that guy almost lost it, he was fishtailing and everything again. he did it on his first run too, i saw him. what a moron. well im off to school, catch you guys later, it was fun to meet and talk to all you guys.
