Hey guys and galls,
I am about 90 percent sure that i have a cloged CAT and I had a friend refer me to a friend, who said he can punch out my cat and give me true dual? If this is legit, how big should the pipeing be for dual exhaust? and is there a certain route that needs to be run for the pipes.

Why the heck should I have to press 1 for English? 98 Contour SVT resinator removed, boomz intake, MSDS headers(just getting started)

search.

And i hope your buddy knows a true dual comes off the manifold, so your going to need an X or H pipe, resonaters, and mufflers.

Its going to be hella $$$$

I know DEMONSVT has true duals among others.

Search and read the FAQ's

if your doing true duals, there is no point of punching out the cat since the true duals runs from the headers back. You can run true duals on a single entry/exit cat. Retaining the stock cat would defeat the purpose of true duals and would be quasi dual.

Yeah, why not? When you have the tools to do the cutting/bending/welding like some of these guys on the forums do, a lot of things can be had for considerably cheaper than Joe the Mechanic down the street. :shrugs:

Even when I got my stuff for the True Duals, I was already at about $300 with high flow cats and mufflers from Vibrant Performance. This will be interesting to see.

Lets use his system's layout as a template shall we?

1) no cats0 $0
2) (2) Magnaflow res- $100 Justmagnaflow.com
3) (2) Magnaflow polished SST race series mufflers- $200 Justmagnaflow.com
4) (4) 180 degree u-bends form Jegs- ~60(don't recall exactly whaqt my total was)
5) Misc strait pipe and flanges locally- ~40(definitly no more than that)
6) Build and h-pipe (free)
7) Get to cut\weld\fit\repeat as necessary

I've also been doing some research and will be expermenting with using two stock SE exhaust piping ystems modified to run side-by side...because of ground clearance issues i'm going to have to go around my gas tank. The stock SE system is the proper size for tue duals(2").
