So I have a window air conditioner and it does not fit in my windows at my apartment. I was wondering if there is anything negative or dangerous in using the AC completely inside? I was thinking of propping up the air conditioner and making it so the back of the AC would sit downward so the water the AC produces would be caught by a bucket or something. Just wondering if there is anything wrong with this. Thanks!

I'm not sure if it's good because they make special units that are designed to do exactly what you are going to be doing with the window unit.

Most likley it wouldn't work very well. The heat produced from the unit is pushed out the back.

Yup.

You would have to find a way to vent the hot air outside, and deal with the condensation water. Otherwise, it's just a really ineffecient fan.

Go to Home Depot & pick up a bracket for the A/C unit. I bolts up the the outside of the building & supports the unit.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I believe it needs the fresh air for cooling purposes...you'd risk overheating, if you've ever been on the other side of the unit (outside) while it's running you would know the amount of heat the unit puts out...probably more than it could cool efficiently, not to mention the nasty/stale/re-circulated air it'd be blowing around...

this, of course, is based on no facts whatsoever & my own common sense...er, good luck.

Okay, I guess that answers my question. haha. I'll be moving out of this place June 1 to a place that has an AC built into the apartment already. That should make life easier. Now I just gotta get my car AC working. Thanks!

is it really that hot up where you are??
I would think you could manage to survive until June 1st without the AC.

You're in MN and you're asking about A/C already?!!!!!!!!! . I might think about putting it in at the beginning of June.
