That is the main support for the rear section of the car.I'm sure you have seen the hole for the intake tract that runs to the fender,right?Ford decided not to increase the size of that hole because it would effect the rigidity of the front end.Your trying to tell me that chuck is not going to let that section twist more than it did.

Well I never saw the test data from Ford about that hole affecting structural rigidity, but a lotta people make that hole in the fender bigger as well without noticing any adverse affects. I'm sure it affects it to some small degree but by exactly how much? Not enough to do anything equals not enough to matter.

i have that notched on my csvt and im pretty shure my rear end is still in tact and still straight as it was the day i bought the car......

You have a RSTB as well so shut it!
Anyway, im with kremit on this one. That little chunk will not do squat. Go sit in your trunk and stare up, inspect everything, then sit there and think, think for a long time about how it could be possible and impossible for it to effect anything. Unless you cut a solid chunk out of it, and I mean, all the way thru the structuring, that would be the only way
