Well gang,

the latest issue of Motor Trend sparked an idea in my head.

Was thinking of a 2 day meet that involved a long drive and either a camp overnighter or a night in a dirty motel in Reno.

For those that subscribe or those just too damn cheap to afford the $10/yr, go to your local bookstore and read up on page 100 of Aprils, Motor Trend. Looks like a helluva drive. Up I-5 to Redding and then E on Hwy299 and then S on Hwy89 to I-80 dropping us right about the Nv/Ca border.

While on 299E we will venture up the Everett Memorial Hwy to about 8000ft!

No mapping sites seem to allow me to map this out but it sounds like fun.

Just wanting to gauge interest on this. I was thinking a weekend in May would be perfect.

Or just tell me I'm out my right mind for thinkin sumin like this would work :rolleyes:

Not a bad idea, depends what car I had at the time of the meet. And one question, do you have any idea how slow our cars are at 8000 feet?? There would be some nice landscapes and views, just don't expect to be slidding your car around any corners.

And no I will not share a room with you Christopher, I'd probably wake up to your hand on my leg

You already know what I think.

But for those of you who don't: I do like the idea of a drive like this BUT I do not want to put my car thru this. I'm almost at 70k and I have gone thru my KDW's in a matter of months. I still need brakes, new filter and IMRC. My car would not be ready for this drive. Even if I fix all these things before May I still do not want the wear and tear of such a long drive.

Damn! I wanted to go to a nor-cal meet before I moved down south but I will be gone by then.

I'm down i think? Sounds fun. I think a shady motel would be interesting with all of us.

Don't forget there's still that Mirko meet in April, i dunno how many of y'all plan on going, but i'll be there.

Is this just a bad idea or what! I get 4 people who are down for this and the rest of you just say nuthin!

Anybody wanna give some insight on why this is a bad idea or how we can bettter do this?

This provides me an opportunity to see a part of Cali I have never seen, throw in Reno for some gambling titty-bar fun, and this seems like a must see meet!

sounds like fun - i probably wouldn't do it, i agree with Josh - too much wear/tear - but for those of you looking for a good romp - sounds like fun!!!
