not weird at all. in mass you pay sales tax based on book value when the vehicle is purchased thru a private sale. you pay sales tax on purchase price when purchased thru a dealer.
So either way you still get hosed. $127 tax on my 86 Bronco, bought for $150. ARRRGH!!
