Could be... the cat might be eating too quickly and getting air or might need some hairball medicine to get it to work it's way out the other end.

I would try the hairball medicine or if it's solid undigested food, to try to get the cat to eat more slowly. If those don't help, then it's worth consulting a vet.

Yeah, my last cat (he was black and named Boo-Boo like the stuffed cat on an old sitcom, Three's Company IIRC but I could be wrong) lived to be 19 and a half, but then he had to be put to sleep. They are like senior citizens, they want what they want when they want it. Hope Sid lives many more years. Love the name BTW, Sex Pistols rule.

It is tough when pets get up there in age . You never know what to expect . Sometimes he goes into such a deep sleep , we're not sure if he's still with us or not . We find ourselves sitting there watching for him to take a breath . With him being nearly deaf , we can't just call out to him & get him to wiggle his ears or anything like that . Sometimes we'll just gently "accidentally" bump the chair to wake him up a bit . I feel bad about doing it , but sometimes just HAVE to know he's OK . Besides , he just falls right back to sleep .

I agree , he wants what he wants , when he wants it , with NO exceptions !

Dan - when he was growing up , we actually had a chain for around his neck , with a lock on it ... just like the real Sid Vicious . He's just too dang old for that nonsense now .

Yech, when mine was doing that I changed to an indoor cat formula. Seems to help. God, not too many things worse than cat puke.
