Can anyone tell me the relative performance/sound quality differences between after market mufflers vs. a complete cat back system. I want that borla/bassani quality of sound. But if a new pair of dynomax's(for example) will accomplish it, I'm not against doing it on a budget. Any good muffler brands for contours would be a good tip too. Thanx norcal'ers.

well Chris - i've been talking with Derek (aka Derk2000) and those sound clips are NOT with the edelbrock - he has a totally different setup doh! anyhoo... OhSigma - i believe the rasp that most folks hear is due to the rear crush-y-pipe, some have said that if you get that fixed almost all of the rasp is gone... probably due to some type of air flow physics. (sortof like why the KKM whistles in the intake chamber) hopefully someone can post some sounds from an edelbrock soon

Crush rear Y?
by this do you meant the single to dual Y? I have looked at it many a time and I don't think it's crushed. I do know it goes from 2.25" to 2" but it looks to just be a reducer.

It's a very poor design. Might as well be crushed
