Maybe I'm missing something,I change my Fueal filter every 15,000 miles and I don't unplug any fuses, run the car at all, or anyhthing like that. I just pop the plugs, let some gas leak out, the put the new filteron and let her rip.
Now, since were on the topic of painful experiences... I was changing mine the other day and Thank god I wear glasses because that fuel hit the ground and splattered trying to get in my eye. Has anyone ever flinched because they didn't want to get hit in the face with gas? I turned my head and low and behold the car sits lower than I thought. Smacked my nose on the lip of the body.
Footnotes from entire post:
1)Dont pull fuse and still change filter
2)changing filter+nose hitting the bottom of Contour = OUCH!!!!!
