Don't know where to start. 90-days; 4 times to the shop (flat bed, can't tow it with a regular truck); 2 different mechanics; and too much money. My car was doing that,.."hit the brakes, cut off thing"... and has caused me much distress. Got the call today from the mechanic. It was a burnt power wire and he is confident that it was the cause. Well, I can't wait to see. All this money I've been spending on repairs, I could've put a down payment on something new. (Did get a new Trail Blazer though=)
What is it about this damn car(?) that I can't cut my losses? Thanx, had to vent real quick. Hope to see y'all soon.

What exactly was the cut off brakes problem?? I don't think I have heard of it. Never the less found out yesterday during the rebuild of my engine I need all new pistons   James

Didn't you spin a bearing(s)? What are they doing to your engine? Sounds like it's time to buy a used shortblock.

Yea i spun 2 bearings. I guess the stress of the whole thing (possibly temperature related) caused the whole thing to fail. Machine shop said the pistons were five thousands over, when they are supposed to be one thoudands over. I talked to my friend who is in the auto tech course at the local college, and he said that it made sense. Plus I have an allstate warranty who is supposed to pay one hundered percent of all costs, but right now they are only paying about seventy five percent. And yesterday I ran over huge rock in my "loaner" car. I am about to walk to the tire place, woo-hoo! Needless to say I gave that rock a piece of my mind!
