I'm drifting on over here from NECO, and thought I'd say whats up laugh

I just moved up here from SoCal to go to SJSU, and discovered the beauty of hwy 17 wink I then realized that I NEED SUSPENSION PERFORMANCE wink I love driving that road, but everytime I drive it with my GF, she gets all white knuckled cause the car doesn't feel as solid as it probably should.

Now my plans for correcting this oversight on Ford's part is starting off with the Aussie bar, and possibly the Sho Shop subframe connectors, then I'm just waiting for OMP to come out with their Front/Rear STB combo, and then I'd just about be complete.....for a little while anyway wink

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you in the area know of any good and CHEAPLY priced shops that have a full lift (lifts by the wheels instead of the frame) that could weld on the Subframe connectors, and while it was up, weld on the reinforced backing plates for the sway bar? AND DO THIS FOR A REASONABLE PRICE?!?!?!

Any help you can give me on this would be GREATLY appreciated, and I can't wait to have a joint CEG/ NECO meet laugh

You can check out our NorCal forums over at http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/categories.cfm?catid=33

Thanks in advance laugh

I am not sure if this place does that type of work but they installed my suspension for a very reasonable price. Give them a call. Another friend also took his car there and was very pleased with their work.

Well do they have a full lift? Thats the important thing!

My friend came accross the same problem, but he does know of a place, its actually a muffler shop but they do install subframe connectors aswell, and coat it with something to prevent rusting. If you can wait the best place tocall would be APEX motorsports. I think they have the facilities to do it, but they are really busy.

Thanks for the input, I'll try giving those places a call sometime soon, because I'm gonna find out how much it is to install them BEFORE I buy em.

Mysticali, how hard was it to install your Aussi bar? And do you have any pointers on doing it?

Thanks again for your help guys smile and anyone else please feel free to keep adding your comments laugh

Be different and get the BAT 22mm bar or the SCA 21mm bar (strengthened to equal a 22mm bar). Just giving you a heads up that it may be hard to get a Aussie bar as they are produced on limited runs.

I have a 21mm SCA bar along with 2 other guys here in the NorCAl group. Suspension is squeeky, car creeks and moans, You will develop a clunking noise cus the stock brackets suck. All things you must be prepared to live with. Performancefords.com, see suspension page for new products, just introduced a rear Strut tower brace that will fit for the Coug, needs to be welded in though.

Do you have any suspension upgrades like stiffer springs and shox/struts? Might want to go that route first as you will see the most dramatic differences from that.

Ask Stinger00 or Mysticoolio about there setups, both have Koni's and Eibach/HR springs.

Welcome to the group!
And what performance upgrades have you done to the Coug, is it a Duratec?

The Aussiebar wasn't that hard to install, it just took me and my friend hella long to do it.
We used the stock brackets, and I haven't had a problem yet, aside from the squeaking. I'll have to get under the car and lube em up sometime soon.

If you figure out a place that charges a decent amount to install the subframe connectors let us know, 'cause i was looking a while back at getting those.

And the swaybar will definately help your suspension woes. Springs and struts will make it even better though.
