how about a how to on that fake floor?

You want a how to? Here ya go

How to by RawBurt!~!

1. Take out crappy card board stock floor.
2. Go to hardware store and buy a sheet of either 3/4" or 1/2" (I used 1/2", anymore is really overkill) MDF.
3. Get a pencil
4. Place old crappy stock card board floor on sheet of MDF.
5. Trace the old crappy floor onto MDF with pencil, see step 3.
6. Pick most any type of saw. I used a saws-all.
7. Cut it out
8. Peel old carpet off of the old crappy stock card board floor.
- Or buy new carpet.
9. Place carpet over the MDF and use glue of a staple gun to secure it.
10. Pick it up and place it in your trunk. Needs some coaxing to fit in.

I am fine except for step five. What type of pencil do we use?!?!?!?! Number 1, 2 or even a 3? Mechanical or traditional.....could use even use a pen or marker?

Here is the how to:

At least, how I did it:

1. Empty trunk (duh)
2. Frame out the trunk with a support brace across the frontback, and middle where the door for the spare tire is. i ran my main braces from the front to back right to each side of the spare tire well, you'll see little spots where they fit perfect

3. Like suggested trace out cheap carpeted thing onto plywood or mdf board(i used mdf board)and cut it out

4. next you need to make your 4 pieces out of that one piece - you need right side, left side, front, and hatchdoor

*be careful to measure so that they all match up to the bracing you jsut made for the floor to sit on

5. after you get the front, and two sides in there, carpet them

6. trim middle piece to allow room for carpet, and if you are going to put handles from the underside to pull it up as i will, allow for those as well, and you're done

also, my rca wires all run from the deck on the right hand side of the trunk, the power wire runs from main battery to the trunk on the left, the ground cable going from the battery to tha amps are about 6 feet long, and the actual ground for the battery is only 1.5 feet, thats the most important one

i dont get any kind of noise whatsoever from this setup(second time i have done it)

one other thing, the battery is held down by lips on that litle enclosure that go over the lips on the battery, a little carpentry work and a sweet dido blade on the table saw!! so its not going anywhere, just cleaner then a strap or something to me

after the box is in, you wont even see a single wire at all, except on the right behind the amps where you cant really hide them until they are under the floor

gravity!!!

when i first relocated my battery, i used one of those plastic battery boxes with tie downs from jegs.com...somehow i screwed it up though (cheap hardware anyway) and the battery was basically just sliding around freely in the trunk.

I fixed that by getting a billet aluminum piece from a company called aerospace components (i think) and an optima red top. It's firm enough i can yank on it with all my weight. Looks nice too.
