Mine is a '95. One shop said they would read the codes for $45 and I am hoping there is a free way to do it but have not found it. '95 Contour GL 2.0l automatic, 110k miles

In addition, you can also read the flashing on the CEL rather than a test light. If you use a test light, yes, I would assume that it is a 12 volt test light. The sequence went like this key on fan turns on, then off one quick (and low lighting level) cel pulse three single pulses, 2 seconds apart three single pulses, 2 seconds apart 4 second delay one pulse 4 second delay three single pulses, 2 seconds apart three single pulses, 2 seconds apart the end notes: - car had no cel for the first week I owned it (I got it a week ago) - this cel just appeared after me troubleshooting a no start condition for several hours in the last day - battery was disconnected most of the last 24 hours, driven 3-4 miles since last reconnect, so maybe pcm is still learning? - have just replaced plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, cleaned maf, flushed radiator Last edited by johnoh; 05/05/06 12:52 AM.
