thought of a good idea, i'll get the mil eliminators w/out gutting the precats, when i go in for an emissions test, if the run it through a sniffer i will leave it as it, if the mil eliminators work and they dont snif it then i will gut them out

how bad is it...
Gutting the main cat is stupid, it hinders performance cause now you have a big open area for exhaust gases to swirl around in, rather than just exiting the pipe.

If you really want, you can have an exhaust shop make and/or put on a test tube in place of the main cat, but like Tourige said... don't gut it. Only gut the precats.

Don't buy MIL eliminators, make your own. Search MIL eliminators and you should find the diagram to make your own. It costs about $5-10 for the parts and you can splice into your existing lower 02 sensors. Should save you some $$$

I am currantly cat-less and I have plenty of power. With my oil cooled rotory muffler, everything seems to balance out just fine
