Shot a Casull when I lived in Germany at the firing range on Base....it was cool...but not cool enough to buy one.....same goes for the .500 S&W....anyway....carry weapon: Springfield XD Subcompact...3" barrel....all black...no stainless on it. If you have to use it....then you WILL go to court. If the jury sees a shiney handgun...they get bad thoughts...then you lose...it is that simple.

everyone needs to remember these words.
half of your CCW experience should be finding a top notch lawyer, because you will be going to court if you shoot someone.

I just shot the Revolutionââ??¢ XO .45 acp from SIGARMSÃ?® last night and I immediately wanted to go buy one. Then I saw the $975 pricetag at the range/store and decided that I'm happy with my cheap Taurus PT945 for the time being. I'm not too fussy about 1911's, but the Revolutionââ??¢ XO was amazing.

I've seen Casull's being shot, but didn't have the nerve to pick it up and blast away with it myself; I've just about embedded the hammer spur of a .44 Smith 2" in my forehead after a pair of shots and seeing someone probably 75 lbs. heavier than I have issues with the Casull, I left it alone.
The Coonan was a riot to shoot, as long as it wouldn't jam, which was about every other clip. Maybe it was the ammo we were shooting, but aside from the grip being a bit large, the recoil wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. Fun, but it was a slab o' metal to lug around.

Yeah I like the Kimber .45 too. My friend let me mess with it, and all I can say is WOW. Well built gun.

Very good point. You also must come to the realization that a gun is not to scare someone. A gun is used to kill. Even if, or maybe especially if, you have a CCW(permit to carry a concealed weapon), if you pull your gun out to scare someone, you can get charged for brandishing a weapon. Not fun. You only pull your gun out to kill, and nothing else. Besides, if you don't kill the person you shoot, they can sue you in civil court and the person suing is the primary witness. They might not win, but you'll have a ton of legal fees. If you shoot to kill, no witness, no case.

Do tell; you are one of the first folks that I know of that's shot a Sig 1911. I've been wanting to try one out, but just haven't had the time.
If it's as good as the standard Sigs are, it's probably a good thing that I have not laid hands on one yet, as I more than likely would come home with one...

My buddy has a sprained ankle, so instead of the gym, we went to the indoor range after he got off work. He's got a modified 1911(can't remember brand, but it has trigger and sights and stuff) and he wanted to shoot a 1911 at the range. The one he wanted was already rented, so we tried the Sig. It was the smoothest trigger action. My buddy's 1911 has the hair trigger, which I don't care for. The Sig, though, required you to sqeeze the trigger like you want to. A lot of feedback in the trigger, but smooth like pulling a knife through warm butter. However, its best quality was the balance of the gun. If you firmly gripped the gun, the recoil was perfectly manageable. If you didn't grip it right, it still yielded decent results. The balance of the thing made it difficult to miss.
I swore I would never get a 1911(personal reasons ), but I'm now seriously reconsidering.

I'm getting a Sistema (Colt 1911 made in Argentina) 45ACP as soon as they get into the country (June 06). For <$300 for a Colt, you cannot beat it.
