I am considering buying a 95/96 V6 MTX for an around town driver. I love my wife's 98 V6 ATX, but she wants to keep it herself and I'd rather a MTX.

Questions are:

1. What do you think a 95/96 is worth? Fair to moderate condition. No major drivetrain problems. Paint/body can be rough, and the interior can have problems. Preferable 100Kish miles or less.

2. Is the MTX/V6 combo so rare I won't find one? When I looked passively in 99 I couldn't find any, but, I wasn't serious.

(95/96 because I like the body style more and to keep cost down)

Thanks,
Scott

Ford cannot build a car like this (1966 tbird) today because the US government says it is not safe. It has no crumple zones, air bags, or other safety features such as what you'll find in say, a new Toyota. But hit a Toyota with one of these and see who loses!

I've got one, and want to sell it in 6 months. That's probably not helpful, but you never know. I'd be willing to let it go for a really good price. Only problem with the car is a bit of a 3rd gear problem, but not so bad you can't shift into 3rd, it just takes a moment longer.

Take a look at my signature in case you are interested. You can e-mail me at forrest.whyte@philips.com

3rd gear synchro has issues.

... Ok, so, how hard is it to replace that synchro? Any hope without a full r&r on the tranny?

Ok, I read up on that a little more and it looks bad... I see someone else from Cali had this done to thiers, have to search some more and find out how ugly it was.

I had my 3rd gear synchro done, and no it wasn't pretty. Dealership charges were around $1700 total.
