I got a code P0401, so I cleaned out my TB and the EGR ports behind the TB. No more codes, but now I have throttle hang all of the sudden. I have never had any throttle hang problems before...never. And now just because I cleaned the TB... I cleaned my IAC before this happened, and just cleaned it again just to be sure. Why would a clean TB and cleaned EGR ports cause TH? I am so confused. I guess I could do the common TH fix, but I may still lose sleep over why this suddenly happened. Also, could I substitute the copper plug with mesh wire folded over the inlet on my intake pipe and the rubber hose over top of it? Isn't the objective to restrict airflow? Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Ironically, immediately after I did my UIM/LIM gasket replacement including TB and IAC cleaning, Mr. Moose came to visit.
I had to do the TH fix to send him back to the woods...
I didn't loose any sleep over it, just picked up the cap, drilled the hole, installed it, and gave the keys back to my wife (it's her DD).

Has anybody formed a hypothesis as to why this happens after TB, UIM, LIM, and IAC cleaning? It's just wierd man, and it's frustrating. I might try a different method than the copper cap, like what I mentioned above or maybe a hose clamp.

Edited to remove rediculous statement about saving $. But I am curious about trying different methods, not sure why. But if I could put some mesh around the inlet, and the hose over top of that, I wonder if that would work. I also read a post where someone mentioned tightening a hose clamp to pinch the hose. Either way I can always revert to the copper cap if it doesn't work.

your right...
We have a simple problem here...
The simple fix is right in front of us (the copper cap)
But what the hell I'm going to spend hours of my time trying to figure how I can do it cheaper than $.35.
Your NUTS!!

OK, so the local harware shop looks at me like I'm crazy when I ask for a 1/2 inch copper cap with a hole in the middle. I tried the hose clamp, and it didn't do a damn thing. I guess I'll have to make the trip to Home Depot later. I was convinced the hose clamp was going to work.

You don't buy it with a hole in the middle. It's just a plumbing cap to go onto a pipe. You drill the hole yourself.
