I was taking my intake apart to clean some stuff, and I noticed something that made me wonder... On my BAT intake pipe, the largest inlet (towards the EGR) is not completely open where it is welded to the pipe itself. It almost appears that the inlet was completely closed off from the pipe itself, and then a quarter-inch size hole was drilled to let the air pass through. The opening is probably half the size of the inlet itself. Is this correct, or should I drill it out to be the full size of the inlet? It's been this way for years, and I guess I never noticed. Thanks in advance.

it might not be broken, it also might have never been right from day one.
The pipe i just installed was from GMK the holes were not very clean so i ran a drill through them to clean up the holes. Did it help or hurt the car i am not sure yet as i haven't driven it because of being away at school.

Yeah well this one isn't dirty, it was just never bored to the same width as the inlet. Doesn't seem right. I'm not sure what to do. If anyone has a similar BAT intake pipe, or any other intake pipe for that matter, maybe check yours out and see if it's the same size opening.

Leave it alone, it is supposed to be that way. It says so in the instructions that come with the unit. The smaller opening is supposed to cut down on the moosing acording to the documents that came with the unit.

Thank you SoundQ SVT, as I never had the instructions since I bought it off of Y2KSVT when I first got my car.
