Might we keep in mind the 900hp evo does it with something like 2 liters and the GT makes 1000hp with 5.4?
Aside from the obvious factor of drivability that was previously posted, I would also like to point out that the 5.4L in the GT is still on stock internals. The AMS EVO is running a motor that has been built from the ground up to make ridiculous power numbers down.
And is still cheaper by leagues...
Your paying for a lot more Car with the GT than the AMS EVO

Of course the GT is far more exotic etc.
How about this question
If someone put just a fraction of the difference in price between the EVO and the GT into an EVO which one would win at the track? I would have to think the EVO.
I would still rather have the GT

Oh no question! The GT is an INFINITELY more refined car than the EVO. I'd take a GT over a souped-up EVO any day...
Unless that day involved going off-road on a slick mud pathway...
Then the EVO wins, but not THAT EVO, because it's almost worthless on anything but a Dyno.

AMS is one of my roommates top customers (he works for a parts distributor) and from what I've been told they are approaching $80k in that car... obviously it shows with those sort of numbers its putting down.

I think it funny how the engine size is brought up. I don't care if you have a 5.4 a 3.5 3.0 1.8 any of those, if its making big numbers nice. If you think one is better because its smaller and making bigger numbers...get over it.

Hmm you dont mean to say that big numbers out of smaller displacement isnt impressive do you?
All I am saying is that the power that these small 4G63 engines can make is impressive from 2 liters whether it is reasonably streetable 400-500hp or a dyno queen 900hp

The AMS evo is far from a dyno queen, just look at last years Car and Driver One Lap America results. The power can be put down and they have run 9.4 @149 with ~800whp. Secondly the AMS evo that everyone talks about is a customers car from florida. AMS has two cars, one for Drag (2.0l GT42r) and one for Time Attack/road race (2.3l gt35r).

It is impressive, but does it make it any better than the larger engine...? no
