How about some details?

it really isnt an oil pan issue but when you rev your car about 5 grand ( something around that) the oil pan has less than 1/2 quart of oil....so they make a kinda trap door in your oil pan to fix the problem....I read it at Rit ad today so i was reading real fast......but its goes along sorta like that........

How in the world is a trap door going to solve what they believe to be an oil pan capacity issue?
Besides, if it is the SHO Shop talking in that article, it has been covered in the last few days and a few times in the past as well. I doubt that SHO Shop did their own testing to determine how much oil is in the pan (just regurgitating what they read here, which I personally don't believe anyway - crank harmonics killed my last engine, not oiling).
And their pan kit requires mods to the existing pieces for the dipstick to work properly. I know; I have one.

Did you see David Z's post a while back on the fact that he thought all 2.5L V6's from 2001 on got the extra 2 oil returns in the head that the 3.0's have always had? http://www.contour.org/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=49&t=000183&p= Seems like if ford would spend the money to redesign the block and head casting on what is more or less a "limited use" engine here in the states they must have thought it was a real problem. It appears they were to cheap to put a ~20 dollar more expensive (guestimate of actual dealer price vs the stock one at 45 dollars) DMD on the US tours because all the cougar engines were already built, but were willing to redesign the castings for block and heads to give it an extra oil return. That should tell the intrested consumer something about the extent of the problem. This of course is idle conjecture on my part based on Dave's one post.........

Thanks Horse I for one took your word for it and went out in the garage and added 1/2 quart of Mobil 1 right away. When I was due for an oil change I added 6.5 quarts of oil and now I know what the "real" full line is, thanks for info! I for one appreciate when someone on the inside actually helps us here, instead of being an insider and telling us your an insider, over and over and over again  A word of advise to you "insiders" w/o any helpful info, please replace the ribs you removed, thanks!
