I've had my ford racing wires on for 3yrs no problems.

Most use either Ford racing or magnacore. Depends on what you want to spend.

are the magnecor's better quality and worth the extra $50 or are the Ford Racing wire's just as good, better, or worse? This is essentially what I'm trying to get at.

Dude! Everything you get lately sucks for you! You should not buy anything until your karma improves or something, lol... Anyway, like I told the other guy ... if it's really just the wires - lifetime guarentee - USE IT!

If you tested the wires and the resistance is good then the wires are NOT to blame.

Yeah, I'm still runnig the stockers at 96k but I have a set of magnecor's waiting to go on, they will be going on whenever I get around to doing a U/L-IM rebuild....

Might want to replace plugs at the same time. When I did my UIM/LIM, the Berryman's killed my plugs---->misfire. New set of APP764-----> . Just my .02

Magnacores are consistantly better and have a lifetime warranty. All the hit or miss on the Ford racing wires is not worth the savings. When I install a new high performance product, I expect it to perform like a new high performance product right out of the box. FR wires just don't cut it IMHO.

I have 110k miles on my stockers, and I'll be replacing them with more stock wires from Bill Jenkins.

Varies from a slight miss, to all out hesitation and bucking. Some will get bad enough to throw a CEL. Most don't.

I had my Ford Racing wires on for about 40,000 miles. Put them on at 60,000 while doing water pump, belts and other assorted maintenance items. When I first installed them the car didn't seem as smooth but I couldn't convince myself I had just spent $60 for nothing so I left them on.

My idle has been less steady lately and the car even died a couple of times. I replaced the IAC but it didn't make much difference. Lately I developed a low rpm miss or stumble, always happened below 3000 rpm. I changed the PCV and put some gas treatment in the tank to no avail.

Finally took the Ford Racing wires off and installed the Autolite Pros ($52 at Advance) - it is like a different car!
No more stumble or miss, steady idle, pulls super smoothly all the way to redline, and the transition at 4,000 is much smoother as well. Those POS Ford Racing wires were bad from the get go and I was too cheap to just yank them off and get something else.

If anyone is still running them I would suggest trying a different set to see if you notice a difference. I never had CEL and couldn't see any physical issues with the wires - carbon tracing or arc marks - but they definitely were bad. My car feels like new.
