I bought Accel 300+ Ferro-Spiral ThunderSport Wires, part number ACC-7966B from summit to go with my accel u-groove plugs. Way better than stock, but I have not tried the ford racing ones because I heard they were a little difficult. I like the accel ones and had no problem installing them and not a single problem so far. they fit just like they're suposed to, no popping out or anything, plus they have different colors to choose from, I got the blue ones hense the b on the part number. I have a 96 LX 2.5L Duratec Contour.

I love my Magnacors. Of course, my stock ones were good too, they lasted 111K miles!

I have the premium NAPA brand wires. NAPA Belden MAX- ~$60, some places have them for $40
Nice quality, surprisingly, and no problems.

People on here will tell you that ford racing 9mm wires are hit or miss. Can't say either way from experience. All I know is that Ford wants over $125 for the stock wires at the stealership!

Some one has to try this:
My brother in law is a Mercedes Mechanic. I told him I was having little problems with idleing etc. Anyways long story short- He thought my Magnecore wires could add to the problem I was having. He told me to turn off all the lights and look for any arching (while the enigne was running). Even suggested using a spray bottle to lightly mist over the wires. Sure enough there was arching coming off the wires. He suggested for me to go back to my Factory wires.

Any thoughts...

double check next time you're under the hood that all the connections to your coil are good and snug, if they are and your'e still arching, i'd say if you've got your old wires around, slap those on and see if you get the same thing. if so, buy a new set of wires, maybe changing one by one with the bad ones to see if it solves the problem - and if not, return those so you're not out that money...

beyond that, i wouldn't really know, i'm no expert.
but my guess would be the coil.

My Ford Racing's crapped after about 15k miles. I just installed Magnecors and Autolite Iridiums. Holy difference Batman! Picked up my Magnecors from Apexperformance.net for about $110.

Use the lifetime warrenty! Just make sure you isolate the bad wire(s) and then send in just those. You can't be perfect everytime, but Magnecor stands behind their product.
