That analogy makes absolutely no sense. Your production is measured by what you do at work. My production is not measured by these lectures but by the test scores. You get PAID for work, I have to PAY the university.
On top of that, to those who say just go to class and don't read the book...the problems with that solution are:
1. Professor doesn't cover everything in class, just selected topics. So reading is necessary anyway.
2. The book is much clearer than my professor (for reasons too extensive to list here).
All in all, it seems like I'm making a mountain out of mole hill. It's mostly the principle of confronting a situation that is inefficient and illogical.
Not to mention, I've become aware over the years why our country performs terribly in the worldwide category of education...
