If I were in your shoes, once the car's alarm is armed, I'd circle around the apartment and enter the field unseen. Camp out where you can see where he is coming from and where you're able to intercept him. If there isn't decent coverage in the field, throw on the ol' ghillie suit to really scare the s$*( out of him when you drag him away for a nice talk.
