I agree on this almost 100% of the time. I dont like the Slowmaro's ass end. The T/A is a beautiful car, and even around this part of the country where the mullet is king and T/As are a dime a dozen, I still find myself checking every F-body to see if its T/A or Fbird. The raised wing of the T/A gets me every time.

Oh and BTW I paced the greatest car in history, as far as I am concerned, for 15 miles... I was side by side with a 2005 Viper. That car gives me chills everytime I see one...

W3rd. I'd much rather be .2 slower than seen in a car that seems to be fashioned after a vacuum cleaner.

My buddy ran a 13.4 in his 00 Z28 BONE stock, down to the paper filter and stock tires. (That was with a crappy 60 foot time too, like 2.2ish) I also know someone that had just a lid and ran a 13.02 in his 00 Z28. Show me a Mustange GT that can come anywhere near that stock or with just an intake.

but we already know your definition of BONE stock is crazy skewed.

Hey, not a problem, there are just as many nicely modded T/A F-bodies as there are Camaros, not hard to find any. Pick your poison...

Me I'm a bit more conservative so I prefer the SS Camaros personally, the T/A styling is a bit too raucious for me, but to each his own.

i don't know about all that.

stock for stock, an ls1 is faster. raping faster? not really.

Oh yes, raping faster is guaranteed.

+1

Compare the typical LS1 F-body's 1/4 mile times of lets just say 13.7 to be safe, even though they often will go faster than that STOCK, with lets say your typical Mustang GT. Do it.

I've run a bone stock 2001 LS1 F-body to a 13.1 @ 109MPH at Cecil, fastest I've ever seen a stock GT run at Cecil was 13.8 @ 101MPH personally. That's 8MPH of trap speed, a huge difference when it comes to any straightline race really as anyone with any real experience already knows. When I 1st bought my 99 SS it had TB, MAF, lid, exhaust, I ran 12.9 @ 111MPH with traction problems.

Stock stangs aren't much competition beyond 60MPH for a 6-speed LS1 F-body, the LS1's have MUCH better top end. The slowest LS1 F-body is a 2.73 equipped auto tranny, and even those will trap average 104MPH in the 1/4. 4.10 gears do a good job of waking up stock GT stangs, along with H/X pipe exhausts. The Mach1 Stang's are much better competition for an LS1 F-body IME b/c they have the much better top end, same with the 99-01 SVT Cobras. Just MHO...

No it was not a 3.4 and it was not 13's. It was a 3.8 running mid 14's. When I say my friend in his 00 Z28 ran that bone stock, this is definitely BONE stock, as I mentioned, down to the paper filter, stock tires, no headlights removed, full spare, full interior, EVERYTHING.

I admit that the bone stock comment about the 3.8L was stretched quite a bit. I made a premature statement about what he had done to the car. A better statement in regards to the 3.8L would have been $0 in mods I guess.

Either way you look at it, an LS1 even moderatly driven will own a GT any day of the week. Heck, my Z28 when it had just cat back and headers was running 13.7 and that was just the LT1.
